Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world,
and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.
The Salt Lake Valley Chapter began operations in 1986. As the largest Habitat for Humanity affiliate in Utah, Salt Lake Valley Habitat is changing lives and building neighborhoods one family at a time.
The strength of Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity is its ability to partner with local businesses and organizations to build a sustainable community. Through partnership with homeowners, communities and donors we are helping to eliminate the cycle of poverty affecting so many in Salt Lake and Tooele Valleys.
More than just houses, we build community. We believe that our program is a permanent solution in the battle against substandard housing. With our widespread community support, our program changes the lives of those who are given the chance to purchase their own home.
Through this innovative program, the Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity has built over 86 homes in the Salt Lake Valley providing shelter and a sense of pride to local families.
